Melissa Palmer M.S., CCC-SLP, QOM has been practicing as a speech-language pathologist for 18 years. She is licensed under the Florida Department of Health for Speech-Language Pathology, and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). Melissa is also a Qualified Orofacial Myologist (QOM).
Melissa is passionate about helping children with articulation, phonological, fluency, voice and language disorders, apraxia, learning disabilities, and oral habits (ex: thumb sucking, pacifier use and nail biting). Her training and experience includes: Oral Placement Therapy (Talk Tools), Hodson's Cycles Approach, Beckman Oral Motor, PROMPT, and Orofacial Myology (QOM).
Melissa plans child-centered therapy sessions using dynamic therapeutic intervention methods. Parents are encouraged to participate, and facilitate home practice exercises. Melissa has experience working with children in the following settings: outpatient therapy clinics, public and private school systems, home health, and telehealth. She currently provides services located in the following settings: home-based, safe community locations (indoor/outdoor), and telehealth.
