I live on the UES of Manhattan (with a car) with 4 years of experience in both the home and school settings, predominantly with children 2-21 yrs of age.
Experience includes but is not limited to:
-Conducting individual/group therapy sessions for improvement of fluency, articulation/intelligibility, receptive/expressive language skills as well as cognition (including attention, memory and problem solving), auditory processing, social/pragmatic and play skills.
-Designing therapy sessions to incorporate, enhance and encourage increased language, communication and socialization.
-Initiating/incorporating low tech/no tech AAC (i.e. communication board) into therapy sessions to facilitate the increased communication (i.e. wants/needs) in nonverbal/severely delayed children; counseled family/careivers as needed regarding reinforcement.
-Providing oral motor and behavioral feeding therapy with family counseling regarding speech-language and feeding development.
-Documenting treatment session results and composing quarterly/annual summary reports regarding overall progress, achievement of established objectives and prospective goals and outcomes.
-Researching/identifying appropriate equipment/materials and evidenced based practices to be used in sessions for facilitation of engaging multi-sensory activities with consideration of specific clients’ needs.
-Planning future intervention to accomplish current treatment goals and establish new goals/objectives based on integrated diagnostic information including measured performance, clinical and care giver observations of clients’ strengths/weaknesses and prognosis
