Courtney Overton, MS, CCC-SLP is a nationally certified speech-language pathologist. She is licensed in New Jersey and Virginia and has extensive experience in the public school system at the primary and secondary levels. Courtney is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Maryland.
Courtney is currently a doctoral student in literacy, culture, and language education at Indiana University with a minor in educational leadership. She completed her graduate studies at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts to earn a master's degree in speech-language pathology. She earned a bachelor's degree in speech-language pathology, minor in linguistics, and certificate in American Sign Language at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Courtney regularly attends the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Convention to remain abreast on evidence-based practices in pediatric speech-language pathology. She is also a member of the International Dyslexia Association, International Literacy Association, Fairfax County Speech-Language Pathologists Association, the National Black Association for Speech-Language and Hearing, and the Pearl and Ivy Educational Foundation, Inc. Courtney is trained in Tongue Tips, Thumbs Up!, Story Grammar Marker, Social Thinking, Read Well, Language, FUNdations, The Logic of English, and Unstuck and On Target. She specializes in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating orofacial myofunctional disorders, articulation disorders, developmental delays, English language learners, reading/writing disabilities, language disorders, social skills,
